This study uses the finite element method to analyze the mechanical behavior and free vibration of sandwich FGM beams based on quasi-3D shear deformation theory. The material properties of sandwich FGM beams are developed based on the principle of continuously changing material properties along the $z$-axis. The novel point of this work is the application of a quasi-3D shear deformation theory to analyze the free vibration of sandwich FGM beams, providing higher accuracy than lower-order theories. The theoretical basis and FEM calculation methods are used to solve the free vibration problem of two-phase functionally graded sandwich beams (1D-FGSW) with a homogeneous core under the following boundary conditions: simply supported (SS), clamped-clamped (CC), and clamped-free (CF).
